- Identify what is worn, forgotten or no longer coherent.
- Rebuild outfits from existing pieces.
- Define the cuts, colours and categories that are missing.
- Create a precise shopping list if sourcing is required.
“I have so many clothes, but nothing to wear” rarely describes a lack of quantity. The difficulty more often comes from a wardrobe built through separate purchases, without a strong enough connection between cuts, colours and uses.
The first few minutes already offer clues. Yet the audit is not limited to a first impression: every piece is tested against the client's silhouette, routine and the outfits they genuinely need to build.
1. What NAFI observes first
She looks at dominant volumes, the distribution of colour, duplicates, missing categories and pieces that impose too many constraints. She also separates garments that are never worn because the cut is wrong from those that simply lack the right combinations.
The purpose is not to judge the wardrobe. It is to understand why morning decisions feel slow while the rails are full.
2. Why another purchase does not always solve the problem
Without structure, every new purchase risks remaining isolated. Another jacket does not create outfits if no trousers, shoes or coat connect with it. The wardrobe grows; the number of genuinely wearable combinations barely moves.
Before sourcing, NAFI therefore looks for what can already be reactivated. Some pieces only need a new proportion, an accessory or a less expected pairing.
3. How the wardrobe edit works
The session begins with real uses: work, weekends, travel, events and laundry rhythms. Pieces are then tried or reviewed by category to decide what remains, what needs alteration, what can be passed on and what no longer serves the client.
The edit is selective, not theatrical. Its purpose is not to empty the wardrobe, but to reveal its logic.
The best wardrobe is not the one that holds the most. It is the one in which every piece knows what it can leave with.
4. What you leave with
The session clarifies the silhouettes that work, the core colours and the genuine gaps. Outfits are rebuilt from existing pieces and a prioritised shopping list prevents a return to accumulation.
Depending on the agreed format, NAFI provides a written summary. The exact scope is confirmed before the session on the Services and pricing page.
5. In-person work and remote preparation
The most complete work takes place at home, in front of the real wardrobe. An initial diagnosis or preparation can nevertheless begin remotely when the client is not in Paris.
This session belongs to Image Consulting in Paris: it gives the client criteria and reorganises what already exists. If it reveals a shopping need, sourcing then becomes a separate Personal Shopping assignment.
6. When to plan a wardrobe audit
A new role, city, rhythm, silhouette or season can make the old system less relevant. The audit is also useful before a major shopping programme: it prevents buying what the wardrobe already contains in another form.
Frequently asked questions
Useful answers before opening the wardrobe with NAFI.
Do I need to take everything out before the session?
No. NAFI explains the preparation required. The wardrobe should remain representative of reality so the analysis is accurate.
Will I have to remove a large number of clothes?
No. No piece leaves without a reason. The edit separates what should go, be altered, be paired differently or simply be stored better.
Does the audit include purchasing new pieces?
No. It identifies the gaps. If sourcing is required, it is organised afterwards as a separate personal shopping assignment.
Can the audit be done remotely?
Preparation and an initial diagnosis are possible remotely. For a precise review of volume, fabric and fit, in-person work remains the most complete format.
Is the service also available for men?
Yes. The method focuses on use, proportion and coherence and applies to both women and men.
Your wardrobe may not need more. It needs a thread.
